kitchen makover

Just a small one, really, but a little color makes a big difference.

Before (the inside of the cabinets with a kind of faux-woodgrain look):

After:

The color was suggested by my color-savvy sister; thanks, Susan! The shelves are actually painted a shade darker than the rest. I think it looks really pretty and brightens up the kitchen. I still need more space for my cookbooks, though.

Ah, it's so different! You guys didn't tell me it was changing COLOR!

Different in a good way, I hope? I know, I know, different in a good way is an oxymoron when we're talking about your childhood. The butter yellow trim is actually the same, although it looks brighter in the "after" pictures.

I had been wondering how your project turned out, I think it looks great! What does Tony think about it?

Tony likes it a lot, although he was a little skeptical at first. He was the one who suggested we paint the shelves a shade darker, and I think it was a good idea, although in retrospect I think we could have gone another shade darker. The difference is pretty subtle. Does it look like what you imagined?
