Caitlin's good news

Caitlin has been accepted into Smith! She's thrilled, and so are we.

Julia Child went to Smith, which I think bodes well for Caitlin's future cooking skills.

I know, three posts in one day is a little excessive. But we're leaving for Istanbul tomorrow for a few days and I imagine I'll have something to write about when we return.

Congratulations. Let us know when you get to town, as we're just up the road in Montague.

Holy Cow, Chip! This was totally unexpected, although I'm pleased as punch that you found my blog--I guess due to the fact that I registered for Cookthink. I've become so much more reliant on cooking blogs and websites now that I'm living in Geneva. I left most of my cookbooks at home for this six-month sabbatical, a decision I regret almost daily. Right now, for example, having just returned from Istanbul, I'm desperately wishing I had my copy of Paula Wolfert's Cooking of the Eastern Mediterranean.

So, Montague? I've never heard of the town, although my grasp of East-coast geography is pretty bad. But my mother's maiden name was Montague.
